Home, home on the range...

We are so excited to have found a house near the church building! It's less than 10 minutes from it...a lot better than 30 minutes that we drive now! We put in an offer and expected to get a counteroffer but instead it was accepted! So we have the inspection Monday and hopefully that will go well. They had a very thorough inspection done in September that was fine so hopefully ours will be the same. Our realtor/friend said that we are getting a very good deal! I am so excited! The house is over 100 years old but other than the few imperfect wood floors on the main floor you wouldn't know it. The previous owners did a great job renovating it. The woodwork throughout the house is beautiful walnut. The house has 4 bedrooms...perfect for all of us. It's less than 3,000 square feet, so we definitely have plenty of room in this house! The only thing we have to do before we move in is paint a few of the bedrooms and replace the bedroom carpeting since we have some allergy/asthma sufferers in the house.
There are some neat built-ins in the living room. The doors are beautiful! It's on 1.5 acres and we even have an above ground pool. Now, I'm not sure if it's in great working order or not but it looks pretty new and since the previous owners did such a nice job on the inside of the house I would assume that the pool's in tip-top shape. We'll give the pool a trial run this summer and if it's way over our budget as far as upkeep then we'll get rid of it and do something else with the area that it's on. We also have an outbuilding, and plenty of room for our chickens, a few goats and a large garden. It also has a nice playset for the kids and a basketball hoop and concrete mini-court. We have some really nice trees and it's very quiet and peaceful. We also have Amish neighbors, too. It's neat to see their horse and buggy go by.
Closing is set for April 15th and hopefully everything will work out so that it stays that way. We hope to get our carpet in and painting done soon after closing and get moved in by the end of April...definitely before the baby's born (due May 10th)! Keep us in your prayers, please!

Thanks so much!! We are very blessed to have such a great house! The inspection went well and we're moving on in the process. The closing is still set for the 15th of April.
